Green Supplement Review: Opti Greens 50

You know that eating your greens is healthy. You’ve known since your mom tried to make you eat your peas when you were 7 (bleh, vegetables). You know that fruits and vegetables are an important source of vitamins and minerals – nutrients that help prevent and fight disease, help keep your skin, hair, nails and bones looking and feeling healthy, improve your eye sight and so much more.

Yet most of us still have trouble eating enough vegetables. Which contributes to the odd fact that even today, when we live in a food-abundant area and time of the world, most people (unknowingly), deal with nutrient deficiencies. These are the same nutrient deficiencies that make us feel tired or bloated, cause digestive issues and make it difficult to shed fat.

Enter: green supplements. Lots of companies are making green supplements now – super food powders to help you fit in those recommended servings of fruits and vegetables without thinking too hard about it.

About Opti Greens 50

Opti Greens 50 is a non-GMO green powder supplement from the company 1st Phorm, a company that I’ve been affiliated with for about a year. Every serving of Opti Greens contains more than 11 servings of vegetables. It’s a blend of super foods, containing vitamins, minerals, probiotics and digestive enzymes.

1st Phorm bundles the ingredients in Opti Greens into complexes, a super food complex, a phytonutrient complex, a glycemic balance blend, a plant enzyme blend and a probiotic blend, to explain the health benefits.

  • The Super Food Complex is a blend of organic grasses like spirulina, kale, spinach and wheat grass – it’s like taking a shot of juiced greens at the smoothie shop. These ingredients are super high in nutrients and give your body vitamins, minerals and chlorophyll which help to balance your body’s pH level, naturally encourage detox and speed up weight loss.
  • The Phytonutrient Complex is a blend of beets, raspberries, elderberry, blueberry (etc, etc), which have antioxidants that help remove free radicals from your body (which can cause cancer), and reduce inflammation and joint pain.
  • The Glycemic Balance Blend is a blend of ALA, green tea and cinnamon that help your body use carbs as energy, aka keep it from storing carbs as fat, helps a healthy metabolism and gives you all-day energy.
  • The Plant Enzyme Blend helps your body digest and use macronutrients (protein, carbs and fat) properly. Not only do they make those nutrients more readily usable for our bodies, they are great for gut health. Which leads to the final blend…
  • The Probiotic Blend. This is a blend of healthy gut bacteria that helps your body absorb the nutrients in food. Every aspect of your health starts in your gut – this will help your gut stay healthy!

Why I Use Opti Greens

See: About Opti Greens.

Kidding, sort of.

There’s a long list of the benefits of Opti Greens above but I’ll tell you what I like most about it.

Pros of Opti Greens

Like, takes-30-seconds, just-add-water easy. I take Opti Greens every single morning before I even leave my house. I drink it mixed with water, knowing that I’m giving my body an amazing blend of nutrients and hydration that will be put to use immediately since my stomach has emptied overnight. I like the fact that I’m loving my body first thing in the morning – protecting my gut health (I don’t have time to get sick!), and I walk away knowing that even if I can’t fit in all of the produce I normally eat, I’m still taking in the vitamins and minerals I need.

The other reason I use Opti Greens specifically is because it’s non-GMO and it has no artificial sweeteners. The focus is nutrients, nothing added. The ingredients go through minimal processing, which means the nutrients in them haven’t been altered as they might be in other high-heat, highly processed supplements.

Finally, Opti Greens is made in an FDA inspected facility. The FDA does not regulate supplements, so having this badge of recognition is a big deal to me when it comes to Opti-Greens.

*Note: no supplement takes the place of a healthy diet. Taking Opti Greens is not a free pass to eat junk food later!

The Downside

Opti Greens is not free. Some people balk at the price, and I understand that. I balked at the price, at first. Then I realized how easily and quickly Opti Greens gave me a leg up on nutrition and I decided it was worth it.

Your pee will change color. Listen, when you take a scoop (or two), of bright green super food powder and chug water with it, of COURSE your pea is going to change color. I take it as a great reminder to keep drinking water.

Who is Opti Greens 50 For?

Opti Greens fills in the nutrition gaps. It’s loaded with probiotics, minerals, antioxidants and vitamins. In my opinion, Opti Greens for everyone! If you’re a vegetarian or already eat a veg-heavy diet, you might not need this supplement. Then again, I eat a veg-heavy diet and I still take a scoop (half serving), every morning.

My recommendation: talk to your primary care physician before starting any supplement regiment. Yes, this is a trusted product, but I can’t speak to your individual needs, health history and other supplements and medications.

How Much Does Opti-Greens Cost and Where Can I Get It?

Opti Greens is jam-packed with nutrients, but you have to decide if it’s worth the cost. A 1-time purchase of Opti Greens is $59.99 USD. If you buy a monthly subscription, the price decreases to $54.99 USD per month. A serving size is 2-scoops. With 30 servings per container, that’s $1.99 or $1.83 per serving.

Or, if you’re like me and choose to take a half serving each day, relying on your own good habits to eat most of your nutrients in whole foods form, that’s $0.99 or $0.91 per day. Better than a shot of wheat grass.

Where to get it: I mentioned above that I’m an affiliate with 1st Phorm. That means that if you buy Opti Greens 50 from me through this link, you get free shipping. Please know that even though yes, I receive a kick-back if you buy through this link, I would never positively review a product on my website that I didn’t 100% back!

Final Verdict

I’m personally impressed with Opti Greens. For me, it’s peace of mind and it’s a great way to put myself in a healthy mindset first thing in the morning. I have days that are crazy busy the moment I get out of bed and having an easy-to-use green supplement at my fingertips makes me feel better about not being able to eat the way I want to eat all the time. For me, it’s worth it.
